'TENUIJOOKEY CLUB RACE 1 • MEETING. H [FROM OUR OWN COBBESF-ONDENT.] H .' SECOND BAY. B The last days racing of tho Club B ook place yesterday (Friday). The M attendance was not large, there being m barely 200 on the ground. The small H number was no doubt caused by the B threatening aspect of the weather n early in the morning. The-spielers H who came up with the intention of B relieving some of the country yokels of H their surplus cash, went back wiser, B but by no means richer men, Hear- H ing that some of the light-fingered i gentlemen were.on the course, created 3 some anxiety in Tinui, but they did 1 not, as was expected, make themselves fl very conspicuous in the township, tho I majority of them staying on the course, B In foot, so disgusted were they with H the place that they packed up their B "traps" immediately after the firfy I race," and left for Masterton. Judging S from the large amount of eatables and i drinkables left on hand at the dose of I the day's racing, we should, think the 1 privilege-, holders not have I muchprofiUsft fpr themselves aftor | najiflg/ ajl .'.espouses, The.-oourae | was in splendid order.
