MASTERTON ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting was held at the. Board's Office, Perry St, on: Saturday • lafit. Present—Messrs Dagg (in the chair), Buick, Johnston and Welch. Tho minutes of previous meeting ; were .read and confirmed, CORRESPONDENCE, From Mr R, Wilsone, clerk to the Board, notifying that he was unable to attend the meeting through illness, From Mr W, lorns, re the Road from Rumahunga to Te Whiti, stating that he would allow the land to be . : taken, providing it does not damage his property, and intimating that he will meet the Board's Engineer on the subject. From Mr W. G. Beard, with opinion re the Board's rating powers. From same re -road through section st) Opaki Block, late Harvey's property, stating that it has been sufficiently dedicated to constitute it a public road, From Commissioner Property Tax notifiying payment of £67 16s ,9d, balance of Native and Crown Lands rates. From Mr R. Bright, jun., requesting tho Board to make a cutting down the Waignawa banks leading' to : his eeotions on the Miki Miki block. From Mrßrenmer, County Engineer asking permission to remove metal from the branoh road at Otaho.ua to mainline. From Colonial Treasurer, acknowledging receipt of resolution, authorising conversion of lows. From Same, asking if the Board, wishes its debentures under the Roads and Bridges Construction Aot, 1 amounting to £12724 Oa Cd, and now valued at £9906 4s 4d, converted and brought under the Loans to Looql Bodies Act. From Same, advising payment of £l9l 83 Bd, on account of subsidy under the Local Bodies Finance and Powers Act. From Same, stating that £llß 4b 6d had been paid to the Board's credit,'' being £46 6s 6d, balance of subsidy, and £6618s for interest overpaid on debentures 1884-5. Resolutions. It was resolved That , the County Engineer be allowed to remove the metal as desired at Otahoua. ; That Mr Bright's application cannot ,b.e entertained,owing to the Board halving no power to interfere withprivate property,
That the conversion of loans be inscribed, as stated in the letter, from the Colonial Treasurer. That tenders' be invited for the formation of Easmußsen'B Road, ~" The Overseer's report was adopted,;. ' * ; ADJUSTMENT, Mr G.
