Two toll gates are to be established in the Bush district of Wairarapa North, and we can only regret that sucli a tax should be inevitable. It i 3 desirable that the road should be maintained as a passable winter thoroughfare, and if the Council can devise no other means than a toll for effecting this purpose, settlers must. of necessity submit to the infliction, Wo can only trust that within a reasonable period some better and more economical method of raising tho necessary ways and means will be discovered,
