MAURICEVILLE ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary meeting, of the Mauricevilla Road Board was held on Saturday, December- 17th, Presoufc—Messrs WuliamJeßaen (chairman), G, Gunderaon, C, Foraberg, and ?. W, Jackson..' The' minutes'of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

Correspondence outwards was read, , Correspondence In wards: From Treasury adviisng that tho sum of £BO had been fonvardod to' the Board account; from Bank of-New South Wales re same; from Deputy Tax Commissioner re subsidy; from T. Kelleher re rates ; from County Clerk ro deputation to Wellington; from the Secretary Education Reserve Commissioner ro rates; from Commissioner of Crown Lands ro' Schedule of deferred payment aiid 'leasehold thirds.

The Treasurer reported fuhds as follows: General Fund, £22135; special fund, £80: deferred payment fund, £9 2s 9d. Total, £lll Resolved that a letter be sent to tho Waste Lands Board to ask permission to spend an additional £lB 5s lOd on Mr Gruddy's track.

That consideration of allocating tho remainder of the thirds, be held over till the Engineer's estimate had boon re' ceived.

That the County Council be.requested to allow their Engineer to make somo estimates required for somo works to be undertaken by tho Board. That the Chairman bo allowed £3 10s travelling expenses in concoction with tho deputation ro Forty-Mile Bush road.

Accounts to the amount of £46 5s (3d were passed for payment. Mr Forsborg, in pursuance with notice given at the last meeting, moved that the following resolution, passed at a meeting of the Board hold on the 31st July last, be rescinded, viz., "That a sura not exceeding £lO be expended 011 the West Mauriceville road in compliance with the request of tho petitioners, provided that they supplement tho same by an equal amount.' i

The motion was seconded by Mr Jackson and carried, Messrs Gundersou and Jackson were appointed to sign cheques. The-moetinp then aaiourned.
