CATHOLIC SCHOOL PRIZE DISTRIBUTION.

The prizes in connection with the above school were distributed yesterday afternoon by Mr A. R. Bunny who had presided at the examination a few days before, assisted by the Rev. Father Treacy. Third Division Christian Doctrine, John Ryan ; Reading and Spelling, Annie Hourigan, John O'Leary; Writing, Mary Siemunuk and Francis Stempa; Arithmetic, Mary Siemunuk j Application, Mary Stempa, Fourth Division—Christian Doofcrine, Kate Toutcher and Edith Tierney; Reading and Spelling, Mary Collins and Willie Carr ; Arithmetic, Minnie O'Leary" ; Mental Arithmetic, Thos, Williams; Application, Alfred Potter,, Junior Division-Christian Doctrine, Kate Rouscher; Reading and Spelling, James Poiner, Michael de Fratus and Leonard Jones ; Arithmetic, Rich, Tierney, and Jas. Treader ; (junior) Johanna Ryan, Sewing and Knitting—Bella Collins, Knitting—(senior) Francis Siemunuk ; (junior) Annie Hourigan. , After the distribution of prizes an I address was read to Fathor Treacy by one of the pupils which contained the thanks of. the children to the Rev, Father for tho kind interest he had taken in their welfare, and expressed the hope that he might be happy in seeing them complete their studies in a satisfactory manner.' The Rev, Father, in reply, said that it would always be his wish to do his best for their welfare, and would always do so if they and their'parents assisted him. Mr Bunny said this was the second occasion on which ho had had tlio pleasure of presiding at their prize distribution and ho could judge'the progress the school had made since his previous visit. He found that the school was well grounded in the various subjects' taught, also, that although some did not get prizes they were by no backward in their education, The result was due to Father Treacy, who had their interests at heart, and to their teac'ierMiss Harris, He must congratulate Father Treacy, and their teacher on the education given to the acho'bl, and hoped the children would reward them by doing their Jjeifc, and
