I cautioned her, but it did no good. 1 therefore determined to.put up r job on her. 1 got somo false wlmkers and an old ri?, and one night about 11 o'olook J orfept up the back' stairs to her room. She was snoring away like a trooper, but tho minute 1 struck ;a~iiiatoh she awoke. I expected a great'.'yelling and screaming; but nothing of the 'sort took place. She bounced out of bed witha "You villian I" on her lips, siezed a chair by the back, and before I -had made a ruovo the knocked me to my kneos. Before \ could get out of the room she atruok ; m» again, and it was only after 1 had tumbled down the back t»v that she gave tho alarm. Then throngh to my" room, rapped at the"door, and coolly announced': "'Mr Blank, please get up —l're killed a burglar.'" ..;..,.
