We regret to report a somewhat serious accident to Mr B. Tayler, the wel)-kaown fruiterer of this town. He was engaged yesterday afternoon in carting hay off his land in Nursery road, when he slipped from the top of the loaded vehicle, and fractured one of his legs juit below the knee. The examination in drawing of touchers, pupil teachers and training students in tho Wellington District was held last' Saturday with very satisfactory results. Mr Riley was the uxaminor. There were 118 candidates; 186 papers weie taken, out of which there were 138 passos and 45 failures. The results of the several examinations are as follows:—Teachers—-•Black-board 18 papers taken and J 4 passed; freehand, 16 papers taken and 14 passed; model, 19 papers taken and 11 p's el; geomotrieal, 4 papers taken and 3 passed ; perspective, i piper* taken and 3 passed. Collogo students-Black board, 8 papers taken and 7 passed; freehand, 5 papers taken and all passed; model, 7 papers taken and I) passed; geometrical, 1 paper taken and a pajs resulted perapeitivo, 2 papers taken and both pissed, Pupil teacheia—Black -board, M papers taken and 34 passed • freehand, 88 pnpe s taken an 1 £3 pasted; model, 21 papnM taken and 9 passed ; geometrical, 1 paper presented which passed.
