CASHPOINT ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of the Road Board was held on Saturday last.' Present Mes'ssrs Handyside, Elder, .Bellia, Mauhaell, Cross, and Harvey. ' . ;The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, '!' The treasurer reported a. balance of £392 2s-Id, and balance available for expenditure £713 Is Bd. Accounts amounting to ! £7312s lOd were passed for payment. . : Correspondence read, From Mr Holmes requesting that a road belaid off from the main road to.the fords j From Survey Offico re survey of road through I parti, and -2 of Section, 865, Mungapakeha j From Mr A. Cameron,, requesting that the road up Makirikiri be repaired; From Wairarapa East County, requesting to be furnished with the amount of rates collect-
able for this year; From same, re constituting a new road district, to be called Akiteo road district, dissolving the Castlepoint Road Board, and providing for the election of a new Board; From, same, re cost of survey of Whakaroro braneh line; From same, stating that the Engineer would survey a road over the Black Hill; From Wi H. Rautu, and other natives at Aohanga and Mataikuna, objecting to the proposed alteration of .the road from Aohanga to Akiteo. : : • Resolved that the Clerk write to Mr Holmes and suggest the desirability of a meeting to arrange privately between Messrs Johnston, Andrew and Elder for. a line of road through Mr Elder's property to the main road, That tho County Council be informed that this Board can only recognise a claim for a report on a line of road to connect Burling Southey,and others properties with the Masterton Waimata road. That Messrs Maunsel, Bellis, and MoHutchon be appointed to meet the county engineer re the Blackhill survey. That the Makirlkiri be repaired. That the Aohunga to Woodlands road bo repaired, ■ That the Whakaroro road be repard." That the Board's horao and cart be disposed of. That tho Natives be informed that this Buard has no jurisdiction in the matter referred to in their letter. Tho report of the Clerk of works was road and considered, The'meeting then adjourned.
