A MONSTER RAFT.
A timber raft of extraordinary dimen* siom and peculiar construction, which hai been building since last wintor at Two Rivers, near Joggins Mines, Nova Scotia, is, the Anglo-American Times states, about to bo.launched and towed to Ne» York. Launching a raft is m-1 to be b ' novelty in lumbering. treated': in much the same manner as a giant hull. \ The dimensions are-Length, 420 feet ;: ; width, 55feet; depth, 35feet; draught, 21 feet; tonnage, 8000 tons—the largest ever .built.-It contains about 3,900,000 < feet of piles, logs, spars, hard , wood, ani\ other timber, and its value in New York:-' will probably reach 30,000 dols.
