The Board I understand, are willing to accept the amount ' allocated by the Council for this latter work, as a subsidy from the Counjil towards the temporary extension of Hi bridge. ™

When travelling in the locality during the 4»h of the month I carefully examined the work, and discovered-defects in it's execution whioh I cstimato will cost £3. to f rectify. 1 have therefore to reccommend that this amount be retained until the contraot is properly finished in accordance with tho specifications. I havo given notice to the contractor for contract JNo.14 that the Council, will take over and complote the work on tho 17th of the ourreivt month. Little or nothing be been dono on the ground since operations wero Buspendod in the oarly part of last winter. 1 have, therefore, to ask the authority of Council to complete the work further dolay.
