Tho entries for bcßtshod hack and for tho leaping match close on the ground. The most noticeable features in this year's catalogue aro the large number of entries in tho following classes viz: Lightweight hacks 21, weight carrying hacks !>. Ladies hacks 10, RomneyMarsh sheep 78, Lincoln sheep 48, powdered butter 14, fresh buter 15. The show of Polled Angus, and Ayrshire bulls and of South Down and Shropshire Down sheep, stock which is of comparatively recent introduction into tho Wairarapa and should therefore bo specially interesting. There is a fair average of competition in all classes of exhibits and with one thing needful, line weather, 'the show' may be an oxcellent one, Tho prize which tho Society gav'o last year for the best wiro strainer appears to have roused tho ingenuity of mechanics, and an opportunity will be afforded at the ensuing show of comparing the several patents, throe dillereut kinds having beenentored, all claiming to be tho best. .Mr F. 1.1, Wood will soil the privileges at his Carterton rooms on Thursday next at 2 p.m.
