[United Press Association] Auckland, this day. . A fire broke out at 2 a.m. to-day when two shops and dwelling houses in Symmid Street were burned down. The damage is estimated at over £ISOO. Very little was saved. The insurance on the building was £SOO in the South British. McCoune'l, linen draper, had Mb stook insured for £2OO in the Norwich Union,
Dunedin, October 17. The police arrested at Clinton last night the woman Georgeson, who occupied the house at Oamuru where a child was found buried, and whoso child had disappeared.
