Prince Charlie's own brother, Prinoe of Wales was champion of Scotland, and was sold for LISOO. In Christohurch in 1872, Old Prince Charlie, when three years otd, took first prize against eight competitors, six of which were imported. Young Princo Charlie's dam Darling by Napoloon, took fitut prize for throe years in succession against all comers w a dry mare. RUFUS' dam Blossom, by Farmor's Glory, out of same dam as Pride of Canterbury, took second prize at the Agricultural Show at Mastortou in 1877! out ot a fiold of eight; at Carterton lirst in 1878 for mares with foal at foot, when five competed. 11UFUS, bred by his owner at Maniua, admittedly comes from a pure Clydesdale strain on both sides, and bears evidence of this by tho fact that, as rogardu size, bone, powerful build, symmetry, and height, ho is equal to the finest horse that has yet been imported, and is acknowledged as the boat horse over shown in this district.
