An exhibition hss been arranged to be held at Messrs Ransome and Co.'s Works, Chelsea, for tho purposo of testing the qualities of colonial timber, and the uses to which it might be applied. Mr Stauhope will be present and a largo number of engineers and timber merchants areexpeoterl toattend. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's 8,8. lonic, which left Wellington August 22nd, arrived at Plymouth this morning, her cargo of frozen mutton being in good condition. Madeira, October 1. The New Zealand Shipping Company's s.B. Aorangi arrived to-day, her frozen meat being in oxcellent condition, Capetown, October 2. The Shaw-Savill and Albion Co.'s Doric departs this afternoon for New Zealand.
