A HORRIBLE CONFESSION.

Julion Masquelier, who was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the death of a woman whoso remains were lately discovered in Brussels, huß made a complete confession. He states that a woman came from Ghent or Bruges, ho does not know winch, ou the 20th of June, to the Ruo do Prague. She went away uext morning, but returned the same evening, and remained there eight days. Ho did not know what took place in that time, but she died on the 28th June. His mistress told him she did not daro to make a declaration of the death on account of her relations with . the authorities, and asked him to assist her in getting rid of the body. He and his mistress cut it up with a knife all but the head which he cut off . with a chopper. Notwithstanding the woman had been dead eight hours, the blood spurted all over the room, on tho walls, the floor, and on Masquelier. His mistress told him to put tho arms and legs in a sack and leave them at tho ond of tho Jluo Fi'osny, which is usually doserted at night. Everything was done in great haste. The body was wrappod up in seaweed, which had been put aside ; with some old papers, It. was tho discovery of thoso papets which led to tho tracing of the criminal. It was ton o'clock at night when the sack was carried out and left in the street, Madamo Rodelot wont out shortly after and scattered the clothes about where they were foundry the police. In reply to tho Examining Magistrate, Masquilier said that the woman Eodelet undertook to get rid of tho head, and he believed she had burned it, Tho women Hodelet, when confronted with Masquelier, emphatically denied his statements. He, who appeared to bo in a state of nervous oxcitement, hesitated to repeat the details which he had already made in his declaration. When the dopositionß had been read over, Rodelet oried out, "Julion how can you, who owe me so much, bo so ungrateful as tolio for the purpose of ruining mo ?" Masquelier trembled violently, but adhorod to his statement. The woman then bocame so violent and swore so fearfully that she had to be removed,
