Lord Lonsdale went to a and a few minutes afterwards came w" whoro complainant was sitting in the ara?k / chair, and without saying 0110 word took 1 hold of him by . the collar aud threw him out of tho room. Again hi wont up, and was allowed to have a short interview with his wife, but soon afterwards Lord Lonsdale committed another assault by, shaking complainant violently by collar in the passage outside of tho These were the two charges, and complainant expressed his sorrow that he had to bring a case liko this before the coart, but he was compelled to do so on account of previous assaults committed 011 him by Lord Lodsdale. In the evidence given by Mr De Bensuado he said that in Edin - borough Lord Lonsdalo had •' chucked" him out of his wife'a bedroom. Miss Cameron stated that she had commenced proceedings against her husband in tho Divorce Court for cruelty. Lord Lonsdale was fined 40s, the Chairman of tho bench sayinf that tho whole proceeding from first to laat appeared to be very diareputablo when they came to consider the position of the people; and Lord Lonsdale would perhaps remember for the future that the law provided that 110 man should interfere unnecessarily be: tweeiu man and his wifo.
