CRICKET.
The annual meeting of the Mastorton Tradesmen's Cricket Club was held in Mr Waddington's office last evening. Mr J. W. Leahy occupied the chair. Tho balance shoot (allowing a credit on the right aide) was read and adopted. Twelve new nioinberfl woro added to tho roll. It was resolved that tho subscription bo 6s per annum. Tho following officers wore elected for tho eusuinf season:—President, Mr J. W, Leahy; Vice, President, Mr Geo. Farmor; General Committee, Messrs Minifie, Thomas, E. Welch, O'Connor, Wickerson, Bacon, aud Ewington; Ground Committee. Messrs Muir, Leahy, O'Connor; Match Committee, MestrsMuir, Bwiiig'ton, Minifie; Practice Captain, Mr C. Kwington; Secretary, Mr R. Hombluw; Treasurer, Mr J. W. Leahy. The Ground Committee wore requested to make arrangements for the ground for the ensuing soason. A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Waddington for tho uso of his office.
MAURICEVILLE CRICKET CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the above Club was hold on Saturday evening at tho schoolroom, Mauriooville, Thore was a good attendance of members, The President (Mr William Jensen) presided. The minutes of the previous moeting were road and confirmed; The President read the report and balance ahoefc. The latter show receipts for tho past season £ls 4s, expenditure £1212s Bd, leaving a credit balance of L2 lis 4d, The report read as followsi-Geutlcmen.—Tho first annual balance sheet for the season 1885-0 which I have tho pleasure of presenting to you for your adoption shows the financial position of our club tu bo most satisfactory. When wo take into consideration that tho Club was only formod last yoar we may predict for it a good future, Owing to tho fact that tho majority of members were unacquainted with crickot only ono match with another club was played last season. The club had one groat drawback last season, namely, a very bad ground to play on; but owing to the genorosity of Mr'- Gunderson, who has placed one of his paddocks at, our dmpoßal, the club will thiß.yearhavo a much better [round to play on, the members having in the autumn organised themselves iuto a working ban, and put tho ground into very eood order. On the motion of Mr Franklin, seconded by Mr Anderson tho report and balance sheet were adopted. Messrs McGregor
and Hdiibbry "were' 'appointed auditors, The President stated that the gratitude' of the Club was due'toMr Gundersen for having given a paddock for a cricket ground, and moved a vote of thanks to him, seconded by Mr Hanbe'fy, and carried unanimously.'' It was resulted that the annual subscription bo reduced to 7s Gds and an entrance fee of 5s be charged to new members. A vote of thanks was recorded to the retiring officers. It -was resolved to open the season on Saturday October 9th. The undermentioned officers were elected for the coming season:—President and Treasurer, William Jesseu, re-elected ; Vico President, Walter Jenson.re-elected; Captain, James McGregor, re-elected; Junr. Captain, -J. P. Jensen; Secretary, Georgo Franklin, re-olected. In addition to the above, Messrs Poter Andersen and 0. Hanbei'g were elected to the General Committee.
