MASTERTON ROAD BOARD.

The regular monthly meeting of the Board was held on Saturday. PresentWardens Beotham. (Chairman), Dagg, Johnston, Buiok, and Welch. Correspondence was read from the Alfredton Road Board re settlement of accounts botweon the two Boards. Fran the Maatorton Borough Council re metalling Lower Manaia Road, From the Colonial Treasurer re paymont of subsidies, From Messrs Wadham and Ridgeway re road to thoir section, From Mr W. G. Beard re the cost of porusing a conveyance from Mr Meredith to tho Board.

The following resolutions were passod ; That the matter referred to iu Mr Beard's letter be allowed to stand over until Mr Beard'B account is sent in.

That Meßsrß Wadham and Ridgeway bo informed that thoy are not in the Masterton Road District, and should apply to the Board in which their properties aro situated,

That the Town Clerk be requested to supply certain information re the metalling contract, Lower Manair.

That a special order be mado adopting the Local Bodies Loan Act generally m the Masterton Road District,

That Mr McKirdy be requested to fulfil his agreement entered into with the Board re metalling &o on road leading from Main line to the Ruamahuitga river, otherwise tho Board will cause the rails laid down thereon to be removed.

Mr Julius Rasmussen waited on the Board with reference to a deviation on the road near his placo. The Clerk was instructed to ascertain upon what terms Mr Carison would give a piece of land required for the purpose. Mr Angus Petersen waited on the Board in reference to a right-of-way to his property. The Clerk was instructed to ascertain from Mr Jacob Joseph upon what terms ho would allow a right-of-way through his property. Mr J. Holmes waited on tho Board requesting that somo improvement might be made on the Matahiwi road. ■

The Overseer was instructed to inspect and report what was required at the next meeting, It was resolved to ask the Whareama Road Board to appoint a deputation to meet this Board re ■ adjustment of accounts,

It was resolved that the aum of £4B handed over to the Board by tho County Council bo equally divided between Nob. 2 and 3 wards.

That works reported by the Ovorseer be carried out.

Accountßamountingto£69 2s3d were passed for payment.
