He is a beautiful dapple brown, rising 4 years old, stands 164 hands high, and is a fine specimen of a Clydesdale, possessing good head and neck, with splendid barrel, and great breadth of quarters, fine broad-boned legs of good strength and plenty of feathor. TO STAND THIS SFASON AT the Prince of Wales Horse Repository, Masterton, and to travel the district if sufficient inducement otters, the handsome thoroughbre horse ILiOi-ci Miiiideville. LORD MANDEVILLE is a dark bay with black points, stands 15 hands 3 inches, his whole contour beinc very handsome, has a neat expressive head, shoulders deep and well laid back, and good enough for anything. Yattendon (sire of Lord Mandeville) is the sire of the famous Grand, Flaneur, who was the best 3-year-old performer on the Australian turf, never having been beaten in any race he started for, winning in 1880 the Victorian Derby, St. Leger, and Melbourne Cup, Australian J.C. Derby and Champion Race. Yattendon is also the sire of Chester (who in his turn sired First Chester), who also won the Victorian Derby and Melbourne Cup, doing the 2 miles in the fast time of 3min 32sec, carrying Bst 31bs. Lord Burghley, full brother to Lord Mandeville, is n great performer on the turf, he won the Wagga Wagga Cup, 2 miles, carrying Bst 71bs, in the fastest time oil record. Yattendon was sire of Mr Walter's famous mare Yatteriim, who, after her victories on the turf, added fresh laurels to her name by producing Libeller to Traducer, Matchlock, Fusileer, and Musketeer to Musket, and Kingfish (who has just won the Hawkesbury Guineas) to Fiscatorious. An inspection of the above record will shew that Lord Mandeville comes from a fast and famous family of blood stock, being full of Waxy strain. Terms £5 ss, payable by P.N. due February Ist, 1887. He toot first prize at Richmond Agricultural Show, Nelson; he also took first prize at the Marlborough Agricultural Show. TREASON is tho sire of that splendid crosscountry horse Erebus, that has so well distinguished himself, both on the flat and over hurdles. R' TO TRAVEL THIS SAESON. tn the Wairarapa District, the Coaching Stallion Kapid Roan. lAPID ROAN is a roan stallion, 10 hands high, bred by C. Massey, Timaru ; sire old Knottingly, by Scudd ; dam Tournament. RAPID RONE is out of the trotting mare Fidget, imported by James Stark, Esq., from Tasmania. RAPID ROAN is brother to the famous trotting mare Nelly. RAPID ROAN has only been shown five times, and hits taken two first and three second prizes. He is a very fast trotter ; has first-class action and a splendid temper. RAPID ROAN stood in Tiraaru and Temuka districts for five years, and has left the best roadsters and carriage horses in Canterbury. Terms—£3 10s single mare; groomage fee 6s.
