CORRESPONDENCE.

MICHAEL DIXON STREET. (To the Editor.)

Sir,-Wo saw in your Daily paper of September 9th that the deputation of Michael Dixon street had not yet been succussful in their appeal to the Council in getting a slush-hole removed from the middle of the Borough. Well, of course, we can only try again, and by continually trying and porsevering no doubt success will crown our efforts, as we feel Bure if the Act empowers our civic fathers to take over the Worksop Estate, because the Trustees gave an equivalent, it must also grant the same power to them for Michael Dixon street, or else it would mako fish of one and flesh of another, as the property owners on Michael Dixon street have also given an equivalent to the value of LBO worth of froutage property for the purpose of making the road tho required width. It was also given with the full understanding by giving the property the road was to be paid, and a paper was drawn up and kept at tho Town Clerk's office, and kept there for tho property owner's io sign, and Is was to be given to make the giving of the land legal. One of the property ownersreceived his shilling from the Town Clerk, or Secretary. The other four have not yet been handed over. We expect it is waiting at the Council Chambers, accumulating interest, so that when the councillors have tho will to make tho road they will soon find the_ way, and then the 4s and interest on it can help to mako a walk instead of wado out of our mud hole. We are, &c. Mod Alley Residents.
