During the whole of the first spell the city team only succeeded once in getting the play out of their own ground, and besides the tries the ball was twice taken over their line. Where every man did hii 'best, it is almost invidious to mention individual players, but E, Udy, Whatman, and Beard certainly deserve special mention for their splendid forward play. Amonp the backs 0. Perry and Bamber did yeoman's service, W. Perry also played well, but his tacklinsr was decidedly weak. The absence of J. Perry In this respect was greatly felt. Forthe'visitors, Connal, Storey and Yarnham were very conspicuous, whilo Richardson provea himself an expert at off-sido play. Thompson played by far the best back game on his side, and was. ably seconded by Fairbrother.

The name team which played for Wairarapa (with the exception that j. Perry will take the place of Roydhouae) will play eighteen at Greytown on Saturday noxt, and, in view of the Sydney match at an early date, it is to be hoped that the whole of both teams will twn out. ~
