A series pf resolutions wero proposed and .adopted in favor. pf, holding a centennial exhibitiou'in Sydney in 1888,' . • Tliq manager, of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand, limited, reportß on the looal market as follows:—Shipping wheat is weak at sa' 2s to 5s 3s psr bupiie!; malting barley is a shade firmer at 4s to. 4 8 4d,- In N.Z. oats, feed sorts, there is no material change, if anything the. demand is weaker at 3s 2d to 3s 4d; milling descriptions are quieter j but steady at 3s 5d to 3s 6d. N,Z.j| oats under bond are quoted at 2s 3d. to 2s7d. ~ .-: '-.- . -

A.t the funeral of one of the.viotims of the Belfast riots a disturbance .occurred whioh necessitated the intervontian of the police,. who arrested twelve persons and subsequently difir persed the gathering. The town itßolf is otherwise in a quieter state. The title assumed by Sir Richard A. Cross is Viscount Warrington.
