The ordinary monthly meetiffijte the Board was held'on Messrs B. Boys, (Chairman); W;:'Booth, H. Braithwaite.E. WiDorsetji 'Rayner, W. Parkes, and James Stevens; £ The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. :£ A The Chairman suggested thai* as tm overdraft at the bank was.'.something considerable he advised that'the expenses of the Board be kept down as much as. possible Until the new rates were paid. A letter was road from thft'Bfittlers at Dalefield asking the Board to assist in clearing 25 chains of drain. It vw resolved that £2l9s be paid for tj)o work done..
A letter was read from Mr Shacking to be allowed to run bis fence in .a straight line by tho road leading to. his property, Waingawa gully.A letter was read from Mr Ackerman asking the Board to cause the road to b« cleared of the gorse. It was rasolved that notice be givon to Mr Oatos to clear the gorse off the rosd complained of, and that he be'allowed to erect a gate there. In reference to a letter from $r Reynold, it was resolved that his request be acceded to." The letter from W. P. Allen to loft in the hands of t®warden to deal with, '
It was resolved that a WaioMe River rate |d in the £ 'be levied on all properties concernod.
It was resolved that Mr Francis have uotice to removo the obstructions on Francis/line within seven days! - k Mr Shaw's request was left in theF hands of the warden. It was resolved that fresh tenders bo called for the swamp road, and for the bridge, those.aentin bfiinq considered too high. That Mr P. Carr's tenders for Dakin's cutting at £27105, and-for the Waingawa cutting at £lO be accepted. Considerable discussion aroso on the proposal of Mr E, W. Dorset to tho effect that the Board 'abandon the road proposed to be made leading to Messrs Perryand Rayner'B land. It was moved by Mr Booth, seconded by Mr Braithwaite, that the road bo taken half a chain from the. freohold, and half a ohain from the leasehold land, and that Mr Anderson be employed to survey the same.—Carried.
Sundry accounts were passed for pay> ment, and the meeting terminated.
