The Treasurer reported receipts since last meeting £9 10a, grant.to the Park. Trust £l4, credit balance £73133 Bd.'. The Chairman of the Fernridge. School Committee wrote asking for a grant of £2O; and pointing out the claims they, had on the funds of the Trust, according to the ordinal grant of the Masterton S.niall. Farm Settlement, -■■-< The matter was referred to the Finance Committee. .. - '•;; .' ■ Messrs Perry,'Muir, and Feist;! ward', appointed a Finance Committer for.: the current year, Mr Chamberlain hoped the Finau reCommittee would consider the application of the Fernridge School Committeo.i&vor.--ably. A large number of the settlers on the Upper Plaiu were tho original Small Farm Settlers who bought the land.. ■ Mr Hare thought it would be only fair and just to vote money to the schools pro rata. They must have, .some basis to" guide them., ' An account from Messrs:Lowes and lorns £2 was referred to the Work's Coin-'. raittee. An account from J,,Paytio)i and Co. £1 waß passed for payment,;. ,; Mr Hare said he had received >a tele: gram from the solicitors, Messrs" Chap-, man and Fitzgerald,., asking what, arrangements-had been made wifli the. present loaaee of the 10 acres granted to. the Trust:. Mr Hare stated the- lease: of Mr McKillop could not be disturbed. He had 16 yeara to run. He suggested that the Secretary write to the Solicitors, giving them the full particulars of the conditions ot the transfer A resolution was carried to that effect. Mr Hare sajd he had waited on. the Wellington Land Board to. ascertain/ if they had any land for sale.for Cash, and he was informed that' no,-, iriow ■ land would be offered,for : sale'for cash in the Forty Mile-Bush.. He therefore'thought that the Trusteos should invest the, £350 they had in hand in mortgage on freehold security..: He gave notice that he would move at the next '.meeting that fhe ; moneybe.mveßtedinfreehold mortgage, and applicationsifbr.the same be;invited.
