THE GJRAND -ANNUAL SHOW Under the auspices and direction of THE WAIRARAPA k BAST COAST PASTORAL k AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY Will be hold on the Sooiety'a' Show Grounds at Carterton oh • WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER Sbd, 1886. The show will include Horses, Cattle, Sheep, Pigs, Implements, Farm and Dairy Produce, Vehicles, and Industrial Exhibits'. The Society will, as in previous yews, offer about fifty Gold aud Silver Medals, as well as cash prizes, in each of the above stated sections of exhibits, and in addition thereto a large number of valuable special prizes in cash aud m plate have been promised, bringing the total amount of prizes fully up to the average of the last three years. Winners of medals will have the option of taking in lieu thereof £1 cash for silver medals and £2 cash for gold medals. A Leaping Match, a Shearing Match, and a Irial of Sheep Dogs will tako place during the afternoon, Programmes and Prize Lists giving full information as to conditions of entry, regulations of judging, and all other details, are now being prepared and will be published and circulated shortly. Arrangements will be made to run special trains at reduced rates, also to have the Show Day proclaimed a bank and general holiday throughout the vallev. Intending oxhibitors are informed that ENTRIES closo on SATURDAY, the'23rd' October, 1886, noon, oithcr at tho Secretary's office, Carterton, or at the offices of Messrs It, Brown k Co., Mastcrton, F. H. Wood & Cp,, Grey town, and J.D. Oakly, Featherston, and that no entries can be received after that date. All communications in reference to tho show addressed to the Secretwy, Carterton, will bo promptly attended to. Admission to the show grounds:—Members' free; non-members, before noon 2s 6d, after-' noon Is. For the purpose of affording more adequate encouragement to certain classes of exhibits,' suoh as Dogs, Poultry, Pigeons, Produce, Industries, Flowers, &c, the Society has decided to' hold a separate show for these elmca during the early part of December, and full particulars thereof will be published. ¥. 0.
