WHAREAMA ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of the Whareamn Road Board was held at> the residence of Mr Isaac Cripps, on July 24. Present-Messrs Morrison, Elder, and R. Meredith. In the absence of the Chairman, Mr R, Moredith was voted to tlie chair. Correspondence.—From Mr C. Pinkerton, applying for clerkship, and asking to be excused from attending meeting. From Clerk Maslerton Road Board, appointins! 31st current to receive deputation. From Castlepoint Road Board, appointing 7th August to receive deputation. From C. R. Meredith-Kayo, applying to have his name put on the ratepayers roll. Resolvod-That Mr C. Pinkerton bo appointed clerk to Board. That Mr C. R, Moredith-Kaye's name be placed on the ratepayers' roll for the district in place of Mr E. Peterson. That the Clerk be instructed to make up the rate roll in time for the next meeting of the Board. That in the absence of the chairman and treasurer having made any arrangements open a banking account, that tinaccounts presented for payment at the last meeting of the Board stand over till the next meeting, and that the chairman and treasurer be requested to make arrangements for opening a banking account before the next inoi'tinsf. That Messrs Mace and Cameron havin« put the Hoard to the expense of their election when not eligible, that they be requested to refund the sum of £1 10s each (cost of election), and that their attention be drawn to the clause in the Local Elections Act referring to same.
NOTICE OF MOTION. Mr Morrison gave notice that at tho next meeting of the Board he would move That the ]d rate be rescinded, to be substituted for |d in the £. The next meeting of tho Board was fixed for Saturday, 21st August, at 11 a.m. The meeting then adjourned.
