PAHIATUA. ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary mooting of the above Board was held on July 17. Present.— Messrs Orewa, .'Corbett, Farrell, Wakeman and Miller. Correspondence.—From the Masterton Road Board, re dismemberment of districts,.and askiug the Board toco-operate to put a limit on it. From County Council, re amount of rate collected. From Mr Beaufort, re section pegs on the' Toritea road, also about the Boards Engineering work. From Messrs Whitcombe, re track, in reply. From Paymastor General with credit notes for special rates Xjll3 9a Id. - Resolved.—'That a special meeting of the Board be held on Thursday everting. •That the matter of the track- applied for by Messrs Whitcombe and others stand over till Thursday next, Mr Miller to report. That the usual notice of the Board's intention to. strike ltd rate, for the year'ending'-31st March, 1887, at their next meeting te be held on the—day of August. That the Clerk write to' the members for the district as suggested by the Masterton Road Board.; That.-a. i bonus of ten pounds be sriven to the Clerk in consideration of the extra clerical work he has .had to do during the last six months, siat 'when Mr Rioux -fences the boundary of Road Board's acre that the Board will pay half the cost. That A written testimonial be given to Mr McMillan, tho Board's late overseer, to be signed by the Chairman on bohalf of the Board. That Mr Beaufort'be -informed that the Board does not consider itself pledged to . him in regard to engineering work;' at the same time thanks him for his information re section. pegs on the Toritea-Puketoi road. That the Overseer's reports be adopted,., with exception of that portion dealing with progress-payment for section 4, Toritea road, which shall stand over till Thursday next. That the appointment of an ovemsr stand over till next: Thursday. That the Board in future Meet at 7 p.m. instead of 7.30, ,„That the accounts presented, amounting to L7l2s 3d be paid. The meeting then adjourned.
