Duke, Deputy Registrar of Votes, waß found to be suffering from symptoms of poisoning. An emetic was promptly given with satisfactory results. The medical men pronounced the girl to be suffering from the effects of chloroform. Sho is now out of danger. Christohukch, this day. Mr 0. 0. Bowen, Chairman of the West Coast Railway Guarantors, has received a cablegram that the contract for a portion of railway haß been let to Messrs Archeson and Robinson. The latter gentleman is on his way out, anij is expected to reaoh Invercargill in about a woek's time. .
