Invercakgih,, this day. A fire at East Gore this morning destroyed the Provincial Hotel, Aitken and Barron's butchers shop, and two. cottages bolonping to G. Milnes, The Hotel was occupied by Mr Fiannagan, and belonged 'to the Trustees of the late P. Mulvey. The fire started in the hotel, beginnin? at the inside chimney. Milnes' cottages were insured for £l5O, and the butchers shop for £l2O, bothjn the New Zealand office. The Hotel is said to be insund for £llOO, but in what office is unknown at present.

Tuusc, July 2. The Court of Enquiry into the wreak of the ship Lyttelton gave its decision to-day. It atfcributedthe accident Mainly to the want of skill shown by the master of tho Grafton, and found the pilot guilty of grave error of judgment in not having the starboard anchor shackled on te. the cable before lifting the port anchor and proceedim? to sea. There was no evidence to show whether the Lyttelton struck her own anchor or some unknown Bubstance under water. Considering the loss of the Lyttelton mainly due to want of skill on the pare of the master of thfl Grafton, it adjudged he should pay tho costs of Hie enquiry. The captain and officers of the ship were entirely exonerated.
