BOARD OF EDUCATION.
(Abridged from the Post.) The monthly meoting of the Board of Education was held on Wednesday mornand was attended by Messrs J. JR. Blair (Chairman), Shannon, Bunny, Bee--tharn, Young, tho Mayor, and Rev. J. Paterson. The Inspoctor submitted reports on various schools which he has recently visited. The results of several examinations wore reported as unsatisfactory, and it was decided to forward extracts from the' reports to the various committees interested. The Taueru Committee asked for a plan of shelter sheds. This was agreed to. Thev also requested the removal of tho teacher. The Board decided .to give the teacher three months'notice. The question of ro-conßtructing the Gladstone School was broached by the Committee! The Board decided to defer the consideration of the matter. The Dreyerton Committee askod for assistance towards tho erection of shelter sheas. The Board voted L 5. A letter'was read from the Te ' Whiti Committee, asking the Board to erect & master's residence. The Board resolved that it could not at present proceed with the work.'
