Thu objects for which the Company; is established are (a) The grouting of loans on the mortgage of freehold and leasehold property in the colony of New Zealand, repayable on such terras by instalment or otherwise as may be agreed 011 with the borrower, and subject to such bye-l&wa and other regulations 'of the Company as may be made avlocting the same. (b) The granting of loans 011 the security of slice]), wool, cattle, ilax, agricultural produce, and other porsonal property generally; but not the making of advances or loans on or by discounting bills of exchange or promissory notes, nor the granting advances or loans upon any security not herein generally described as it proper subject for advances or loans. (c) The purchasing, selling, exchanging, holding, leasing, and disposing of freehold and leasehold property in the said olony. (f) The borrowing and raising of any um or sums of money for the purposes of lie company, from any person or persons, or any period or periods, and either by eceiving the same on deposit, or by the ssue of debentures, or by the giving of a uortsjage over any property of the coni.iany, or by transfer by way of mortgage if any securities to the company, and the laying of interest on such monies so mrroved at such rate or rates as may be igreed upon. sum of money as may be agreed upon, (i) The entering into, contracting for, lurrying out, ami doing all such other icts, matters and things as may be incilental to, or conducive to the attainment of all or any of the above objects, or all', or any objects of a like or similar nature, &c., Ac., This Company will combine the advantages derived from the experience of many other similar successful institutions now working in the colony. The general principal aimed at. is: Thai the interests of all concerned shall be purely reciprocal; the main features being 1. To provide capital whereby residents and others will be enabled to acquire property, freehold, or leasehold, in town or country, by means of easy periodical repayments which leave a reasonable margin of profit to the Company, while being amply protected in point of security. 2. To enable persons possessed of land to erect buildings thereon, either by pro-gress-payments or in a iump sum, repayable by instalments, or at tlio expiration of a fixed period of years. 3. To receive aoposits, and to afford a safe and profitable investment both for capitalists and during accumulation of Bnialler savings by otto. 4. To grant loans to members cm the value of their shares; and, generally, to encourage in even' possible way—consistent -with sound security—members in the direction of thrift and independence, by enabling them readily to acquire property, and particularly to obtain a comfortable freehold home, without incurring the exorbitant charges which so frequently attend private-arrangements. 5. It must be obvious to every resident, and to every observer of the extraordinary progress of these localities, that this Company will provido for an absolute and urgent necessity which exists at the present time. 6. It is consequently believed that the residents, and the public generally, will warmly welcome-and support the advent of such an institution, the first in the district, 7. Also, that they will appreciate the privilege of obtaining admission as shareholders to a financial undertaking of this description, at the commencement of its operations, when no large sum relenting paid-up shares, nor the usual heavy premium on such aro required as, owing

to their success, is the case with moat other financial Companies in tho Colony now carrying on business, 8. The Directors will consider each application for shares on ita merits, and. will allot accordingly, but they reaervo the right to refuse any allotment absolutely if they shall think fit. In such cases the deposit will be returned in full Applications for shares, in the form annexed, may be made to the Secretary at Wellington and Petono, either directly, or through the Brokers of the Company, or any Agents. Every application must be accompanied by the required deposit, or by a receipt from any Branch of the Colonial Bank for the amount of such deposit.
