At the adjourned inquest on William Verrall to'day the evidence of Professor Bickerton, who had made an analysis, of deceased's stomach, and of the few drops remaining of the medicine supplied by herbalist was to the effect that lie could .not certainly say what medicine it was but he suggested Lobelia. This drug is used as an emetic, and is poisonous if taken in sufficient quantities. It is, according to Professor Taylor, one of the poisons frequently prescribed by quacks, and is a dangerous drug." No positive proof, however, that it had been, administered was produced, and the jury returned an open' verdict.
