CASTLEPOINT ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of the Board was held on Saturday last. Present Messrs. flandysida (Chairman), Maunsell, Beffiss, arid Elder, The minutes of the previous meeting were read and. confirmed.
The Treasurer reported a balance in the Bank of £307 -7s 3d, and balance, available for further expenditure £37 4» Bd.
Accounts amounting to £SB 10s 5d were passed for payment, having,been examined and reported on by (ft Finance Committee. T.
Letters were read from Mr A. Nicholb declining to give a right of way through his property further than to Mr Perry's property.
From the Masterton Road Board, on the monies borrowed under the Roads and Bridges Act, and proposing to extend the time for repayment, and reduce tho rate of interest,
The Overseer's report was read and considered.
Reßolved.-Tb.at a sum of £2 be granted to repair the Lower Tinui bridge. Thi*. the application made by Messrs McQuciS and Grainger at the last meeting for extras on their contract on Elder's hill he not entertained. That a sum of £lO be granted for improving the road between the Tiraumea woolshod and Mr Loaches. That a supplementary grant be' made to complete the necessary ropairs on the ; Aohanga Valley road. ; That a small' grant be make to complete repairs un the Asnedale road. That tho necessary repairs be executed on the Tinui Valley road. That a small sum be expended in repairing the Whakaroro h'ord. That the men employed.by this Board on road works be paid at the rate of (ja&i per day, That in pursuance on notice An, a rate of one half penny in the £ bemade, and levied on all rateable properties in the district. That Messrs Maunsell aud Belliss be appointed to sign the rate book. The next mooting was fixed for the 10ti July. . . ~
