Tho objects for which the Company is established are : (a) The granting of loans on tho mortgage of freehold and leasehold property in the colony of New Zealand, repayable on such terms by instalment or othorwiße as may be agreed on with the borrower, and subject to such bye-laws and other regulations of the Company as may bo made affecting the same. (b) The granting of loans on tho security of sheep, wool, cattle, flax, agricultural produce, and other personal property generally; but not the making of advances or loam on or by discounting bills of exchange or promissory notes, nor tho granting advances or loans upon any security not herein generally described as a proper subject for advances ov loans.

(c) Tho purchasing, selling, exchanging, holding, leasing, and disposing of freehold and leasehold property in tho said colony. (f) The borrowing ami raising of any sum or sums of money for the purposes of tho company, from any person or persons, for any period or periods, and either by receiving the same on deposit, or by tho issue of debentures, or by the giving of a mortgage over any property of the company, or by transfer by way of mortgage of any securities to the company, and the paying of interest on such monies so borrowed at such rate or rates us may b» agreed upon. ((/) The receiving from any person or persona periodical instalments of money payable on certain fixed days, and of such amount as may bo agreed on with the person or persons so investing, and the contracting to pay, and tho paying to such person or persons at the expiration of any fixed periods commencing from the payment of the first of such instalments, any sum of money as may bo agreed upon. (i) Tho entering into, contracting for, carrying out, and doing all bucli other acts, matters and things as may be incidental to, or conducive to the attainment of all or any of tho above objects, or all or any objects of a liko or similar nature, itc, &c, This Company will combine the advantages derived from the experience of many other similar successful institutions now working in the colony.

The general principal aimed at is: That tho interests of all concerned shall he puroly reciprocal; the main features being ; 1. To provide capital whereby residents and others will be enabled to acquire property, freehold, or leasehold, in town or country, by means of easy periodical repayments which leave a reasonable margin of profit to tho Company, while being amply protected in point of security. 2. To enable persons possessed of fond to erect buildings thereon, either by pro-gress-payments or in a lump sum, repayable by instalments, or at the expiration of a fixed period of years. 3. To receive deposits, and to afford a safe and profitable investment both for capitalists and during accumulation of smaller savings by others. i To grant loans to members on tho value of their shares; and, goiievally, to encourage in every possiblo way—consistent with sound security—members in the direction of thrift and independence, by enabling them readily to acquire property, and particularly to obtain a comfortable freehold homo, without incurring the exorbitant charges which bo frequently attend privatc'jarrangements, 5. It must bo obvious to every resident, and to every observer of tho extraordinary progress of these localities, that this Company will provide for an absolute and urgent necessity which exists at the present time. 0. It is consequently behoved that the residents, and the public generally, will warmly welcome and support tho advent of such an institution, the first in the district. 7. Also, that they will appreciate the privilege of obtaining admission as shareholders to a financial undertaking of this description, at tho commencement of its operations, when no largo sum representing paid-up shares, nor tho usual heavy premium on such are required as, owing to their success, is the case with most other financial Companies in tho Colony now carrying on business. 8. The Directors will consider each application for shares on its merits, and will allot accordingly, but they reserve the to refuse any allotmont absolutely if they shall think fit. In such cases tho deposit will ho returned in full.

Applications ft>r shares, in the form annexed, may be made to the Secretary at Wellington and Petone, cither directly, or through the Brokers of the Company, or any Agents. Every application must be accompanied by the required doposit, or by a receipt from any Branch of the Colonial Bank for the amount of such deposit, Application forms may bo obtained from tho Secretary and Brokers, their Agents, or at any Branch of tho Colonial Bank of New Zealand.
