To grant loans to members on tho i value of their shares; and, generally, to encourage in every possiblo way—consistent with sound security—members in the direction of thrift and independence, by enabling thorn readily to acquiro property, and particularly to obtain a comfortable freehold home, without incurring the exorbitant charges which so frequently attend privatojarrangGments. 5. It must be obvious to every resident, and to every obsorver of the extraordinary progress of theso localities, that this Company will provide for an absolute and urgent necessity which exists at tho present time. 6. It is consequently believed that the residents, and the public generally, will warmly welcome and support the advent of such an institution, tho first in the district, 7. Also, that they will appreciate the privilege of obtaining admission as shareholders to a financial undertaking of this description, at tho commencement of its operations, when no large sum representing paid-up shares, nor tho usual heavy premium on such are required as, owing to their success, is tho case with most other financial Companies in tho Colony now carrying on business. 8. The Directors will consider each application for shares on its merits, and will allot accordingly, but they reserve the right to refuse any allotment absolutely if they shall think fit. In such cases the deposit will bo returned in full. Applications for shares, in the form annexed, may be made to the Secretary at Wellington and Petone, either directly, or through tho Brokers of the Company, or any Agents.
