MASTERTON TOWN LANDS.
The regular monthly meeting of the Trustees'was held last night, PresentMessrs E. Feist (chairman), Muir, and Chamberlain. The minuto3 of the previous meeting were read and confirmed* The Treasurer reported the balance at last meeting £lls Bs'. 2d; aceipt for rents £8; total £123 8s 2d.|jjfxpendi. tore-Grants £SO; accounts WjOs 6d. •Balance in the Bank £OS 17a*Sd; an account of Wairarapa Star £li 18s; and F. T. Rodman, plans, etc, £1 Gi were passed for payment. A letter was read from the'' Volunteer Fire Brigade asking grant in aid for £lO towards providing hOBB.
_ The Chairman asked if the Brigade was in working order.
Mr Muir stated they only wantrid hos« to bo able to ?o to work.
Tho Chairman said leaving asido the merits of the caso he thought the town would have some trouble in supporting two Brigades. At allevonts the application would have to go before the Finance Committee.
MrMuii said a month would bo too long to wait. They wanted the hoso at onco. It was resolved to refer the matter to the Finance Committee;
A lottor was read from Mr Hare, statina that ho had waited on the School Commissioners in rofcrence to of the ten acres granted to tlfljql t'usteea for recreation purposes, and he was, while in town, trying to get the /title of Trustees completed. .. '* The action of Mr Haro was approved. Four offers of land, were recoived in answer to the application of the Trustoea by advortisemont.The tenders wero referred to a subcommittee consisting;.of Messrs Feist, Muir and Chamberlain. •--,
