The usual weekly dance of the private Quadrille Assembly takes 'place in the Theatre Royal this evening,,' < Mr E. Gray is the successful tenderer for building Mr Fabian's hotel at Greytown, which is to be known as the Club Hotel. Tho price of the tender has not transpired. Yesterday morning Messrs Heckler and Burch wont to tho whare of a native named Pihuru Waterhouse and found him wrapped up in a blanket severely burnt about, the head and body, It is presumed'that he had some kind of a fit and fell into the fire. He is at present delirious, and Dr Bey is.attending him.
The programme committee of the Masterton Football Entertainment met last evening, and drew up the programme for Monday evening next, which consists of fourteen items in the first part, including songs, duets, glees, and instrumental selections by the leading amateurs of the district, The second part will be taken up by the Masterfcon Amateur Dramatic Club, who will perform one of their ever popular farces, W.e predict a full house and consequent financial success for the M.F.C on the occasion.
