SYDENHAM ELECTION.
(United Press Association.) Christchurch, this day. At the declaration of the poll at Sydenham yesterday, the Returning Officer, Mr J. L, Loo, admitted that ho had contravened the Act in receiving votes after G p.m. He' explained that the barrier put across the hall was pushed down at 4,30 p.m., and a number of electors had crowded about him and interfered with his work. He had told the doctors that those who were at the polling place at 0 p.m. would be allowed to remain and record their votes. ' Ho thought that under the circumstances he was justified in pursuing this courso.
