TARATAHI-CARTERTON ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was held at 11 a,m. on Saturday last, Present—Messrs B. Boys (Chairman), W. Booth, H. Braithwaito, J. Roynolds, E, W. Dorset, H, R. Bunny, N. Grace, and W. Parker. Tlio minutes of the last meeting wore read and confirmed, also the minutes of the special meeting held on the 17th April to receive the deputation of ratepayers of No, 1 Ward. The Treasurer reported a debit balance at the bank of £7O 6s (Id. A lettsr was read from the Waiohine River Board asking the Board to strike a f d in the £ rate for the River Conservative Board. Some correspondence was read from the letter book. A letter was read from Mr Miller in reference to a cutting made at the Ahurue road. It was resolved that the matter be left in the hands of the Warden with power tn expend £l6 on the same. The annual' statutory meeting was held ab 12 noon, ,when a yery. pleasing ceremony took

Mr Dorset asked lcavo for Mr Parker to have a culvert orected on White's line, and some repairs done to the road. Granted. Mr H. R. Bunny moved,- and MrN. Grace seconded that a spocial meeting-'of the Board be held oh the JLofch May, inst.. • to tako into consideration the striking of ~a rate .for-the ensuing year. Some accounts were passed for payment arid, .the meeting adjourned till 2.30 when the .ratepayers,meeiing was to.be hold,but no ratepayers turned up.
