The applause tnat burst forth was tremendous, amidst which our Yankee took his hat and coolly walked outsido of the'hall, HaMl fulfilled his promise—the cat had Sen let out of tile bag—and his money was jfairly earned. The ladies we understand,' did not take the joke so good-naturedly as the men ; and, from the irate Bpirit manifested by some, it is more than probable that, if they could have got him in their power, thoro would have been a fine 3Xhibition of what women can do when. their dander is fairly aroused. While i*the humbug was jingling his- pocket' full* of coins, and laughing in his sleeve, tho humbugged slowly left the hall .with the feeling of thoso who have boen decidedly "Bold." '
