WAIRARAPA RIFLE ASSOCIATION.
Thb annual general meeting of tho abovo was held on Saturday at the Marquis of NormanbyHotel, Carterton. Present; Major Bunny, Captains Bennet and Samuel, Lieuteuant Moore, and Messrs W, 0. Buchanan, F. W. R, Seed, T. Moore, Macshane, and Sergeant Bezar (secretary). The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.
The previous were re-elected. The balance sheet was laid on tho table, and showed total receipts to be £7912s (id, expenditure £7O 16s. Mr Buchanan asked what had been done in respect to tho five guineas ho had promised to give, and was informed that a resolution had been previously passed to put all donations into one general fund, so that no special priio had been given to any one, whereupon Mr Buchanan paid the money, As the Secretary had not been able to get the accounts audited, they were left open till the next meeting, and in tho meantime he was requested to ask Messrs W alters and Wilson to audit them. Mr Macshane moved, and Captain Bennett, seconded, that in future the financial year of the Association end on the 31st March, and that the firing take place on the third Thursday and Friday in February in each year. Carried. Mr Macshane asked that the Treasurer lay his balancesheet before the next meeting, to be held in April. It was resolved that the next firing take place at the Greytown butts, Mr Macshane complained that at the last firing match in Featherston those members of the Association who were not volunteers were unable to obtain auimunitian, The Major promised to romedy that in future. Moved by Lieut. Moore, and seconded by Captain Bennett, that the Secretary be paid £lO per year. Carried. A vote of thanks to the Chairman brought the meeting to a close.
