(BY EkECTOO TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT) Reuter's Telegrams, Melbourne, March 11. Communications are passing between the Premier, Governor, and adjoining Colonies, with a view of convoking a conference to meet at Melbourne to discuss the advisability of adopting a scheme .put forward by Admiral Tryon for the defence of the colonies. It is understood, however, that the members of tho Victorian Government are'generally unfavorable to the plan in question. A meeting of tho Presbytery was held last night. A iter an acrimonious debate it was resolved that tho Presbytery should not sustain the call of the rev. Mr Dodds to the pastorship of the Scots Church, in consequence of his connection with the recent rebellious proceedings on the part of that church.

Messrs Goldsborough and Co. (Limited), issued their annual review of the past wool season to-day. The report shows shipmonts at this date:—Victoria 287,000 bales, New South Wales 300,000, and from other colonies 395,000, making a total exported from Australasia of 982,000 bales, an increase upon the orevious year's shipments of 33,000 bales. The exports to .the Continent amount to 52,500, and to America 20,000 bales. At local wool sales held in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide, 336,500 bales were disposed of being a decrease of 3400 bales compared with the previous year. The New Zealand Loan'and Mercantile Agency Co. (Limited) reporting upon the wheat crop, estimate the gross yield for Australasia at 33,000,000 bushels, 5,500,000 • bushels being sot down as available for export. The gross require ments of New South Wales, Queensland, other colonies, and the Pacific Islands, is given at 7,000,000 bushels. London, March 10. . New Zealand securities are firm at last quotations, Tho market rate is 16s Bd, or Ss Bti below bank rate, Breadstuffs and tallow maintain previous rates.
