PETITION AGAINST MR FISHER'S RETURN.

A petition was lodged with Mr Fostor, Acting Clerk of the Resident Magistrate's Court, Wellington, yesterday, against the return of Mr George Fisher as a member of the Te Aro Licensing Committee, recently elected, The terras of the petition are as follows : We. the undersigned electors of the To Aro Licensing District hereby declare that we verily- believe that' s the election to the office of member of the TeAro Licensing Committee, holden atthe Fire Brigade station, Manners-street, Wellington, mi the 18th, day of February, 1880, at which George Fisher was declared to be duly olected to the said office, the election of .the said George Fisher ia void, upon the following grounds!— That. the candidate was no't capable of being elected to, or of holding, the office to which he was declared to.be duly-elected, and we pray that enquiry may be made into the said eleotion under the prwidm of tto Kwkitx'tfmili&M

Act, 1870, and that the election of the .said George Fisher may be declared to be void. Given under our hands, this 27th day of February, 188U.—(Signed.)
