A SPKOUt general meeting of the Council was hold yesterday, Present —firs Maekay (chairman) Dagg, lIcCWb, Here; dith, and Hawkins.
Crs Beetham and Macquarie wrote to state they could not attend. An application from Mr Girdwood for an extension of time was granted. The question of a £lO compensation was held oyer.

seconded, That the sum pf £7(| Jls lid be forthwith allocated, and the sum of £IOO be held in reserve with a view to assisting in preventing and repairing damage by the Waipoqa, overflowCarried. .
The Engineer explained that tho sum of £so4md already been expended in the Wainuioru district.
It was resolved that the sum of £2O of the Masterton Riding subsidy be allocated to the Te Ore Ore-Bideford road, and the balance lie handed to the Masterton' Road Board for expenditure in the direction of Upaki and Upper Plain. As to the Wainuioru subsidy, it was resolved that £4O be expended on the Blairlogie road, and be handed to the Castle Point Board for that purpose. There was a further amount to allocate, namely £79 3s duo to the Alfredtnn Riding,
