AND GENERAL GOODS TO BE SOLD AT AMAZINGLY CHEAP TRICES. THE OLD PLACE TO BE PULLED DOWN AND A SPLENDID NEW VARIETY STORE TO BE ERECTED ON ITS SITE BY FLGCKTON. BE IN TIME! BE IN TIME! . . BE IN TIME! • And secure some of the CHEAPEST BARGAINS EVER OFFERED IN THE "WORLD. T HENRY FLOCKTON, Proprietor \, of the VARIETY STORES, respectfully desire to intimate to my thou- ■ Bands of customers and patrons that the whole of the immense stock of Furniture, Ironmongery, China, • Crockery, Glassware, Brushware, Spring Mattresses, Bedsteads, Blankets, Carpets, Rugs, Pictures, Ornaments, Cutlery, E.P. Ware, and General Household Requisites require to be sold and cleared out within the next few weeks. The reason which makes this great Clearing Sale imperative is that the pro- ■ sent buildings which form The Variety Store have become utterly inadequate in accommodation for the requirements of an immense and daily increasing busincsß, ' Having therefore secured an extended lease of the site of my present place in Manners-street, I intend at once to pull down fcho present buildings, and erect a NEW VARIETY STORE in their place, consisting of Spacious and Commodious Two-storey Premises, specially adapted for the requirements of my business. To enable this to bo done, the whole of the extensive stock must be at once sold. I have, therefore, opened a GREAT CLEARING SALE, at which the goods are offered at prices so Marvellously and Unprecedently Cheap that they are certain to bo eagerly and rapidly bought up by the public at large. Any of the many thousands of people who have visited the Variety Stores member what an immense and diversified stock it contains, and how amazingly cheap were the prices of the articles, The whole of that stock is now open .for Unreserved Sale at such prices as will astound everybody by their unprecedented Cheapness. Four and a half years ago 1 commenced business on a plan of my own,' which I may say was unique in its character, and never before attempted by any other man in the colony. My system was to buy and sell ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING OF GENERAL USE. . tried to bo "AN UNIVERSAL PROVIDER," and to offer to the public ■every description of articles which they might require at far cheaper prices than they could be bought at <iny other storo in Wellington. I kept on sale an immense stock, comprising an enormous variety of goods, and thus enabled my customers and the public to procure in most cases from The Variety Store, all that they may require, in one call, instead of being obliged to visit half-a-dozen stores to 'complete their purchases. From the veiy first 1 found that this Bystem of UNIVERSAL PROVIDING was appreciated ■and largely supported by the community at large. Bycarefully studying all the possible requirements of the public; by treating my customers and patrons with civility, courtesy, and attention; by purchasing cheaply, ■ and selling cheaply for cash; and by giving good quality at the lowest possible prices, 1 found that my business rapidly extended, until at the present time it has attained such large dimensions that I am obliged to clear out all my present stock in One Immense Sale, pull down tho old place, and erect in its stead new and extensive premises, whore I will be able to carry on business on a more extensive scale' than ever, and adequately meet tho requirements, conthousands of customers. SALE IS AN HONEST AND GENUINE ONE. I must sell every article of my stock. Everything must bo cleared out, and that without delay. The prices will therefore bo fixed on such a scale of cheapness as to make a speedy tale an absolute eertainty, I heartily and sincerely thank my old customers for their support in tho past, and urgently invite them to come to the present sale and secure the benefit of the cheap 'bargains offered. I also appeal to the public generally to visit the VARIETY STORE, and share the advantage of the wonderfully low prices, This is the GRANDEST CHANCE EVER PLACED BEFORE THE WELLINGTON PUBLIC Everything required in a household will be offered at this Great Clearing Sale; There is something for everybody in the stock of the VARIETY STORE, and everyone who makes a purchase will get far better value for their money than they ever did before in their lives. Finally, and as a last word, I call upon each and all—upon city residents and countiy settlers—to come to TtiE GREAT CLEARING SALE and secure some of the splendid Bargains offered by me. HENRY FLOCKTON, At the Variety Store, MiKKERSrSTREET, WELLINGTON.
