UPPER TAUERU ROAD BOARD.
At a meeting of tho above Board on Saturday last there were present the Obairman, and Messrs Wingate, Perry, and Hood.
Tho minutes of last meetin? wore read and confirmed,
A letter was read from Mr Perston, agreeing to the proposal of the Board. Mr Perry also consented.
On the motion of Mr Hood, seconded by Mr Wingate, it-was resolved that tenders for the execution of the works on Messrs Perry and Perston's line bo advertised for, the money to be paid back if possible in not more than three years. It was ordered that £2 10s. be paid Leonard Potts, and that % Wnigate ba authorised to expend £ji. . It was resolved that tho aura of £l3 9a 8d be paid to the Wairarapa East County Council for engineering workdone in the district, £4 7s Id for Perry and Perston's line, and £8 2s 7d for Mfredton line
It was ordered that a chequo for £BS 12s be given to the Masterton Board, to bo exchanged for the Masterton Board's chegue for £4O, The memo of the County Council on Local Finance was read, and it was resolved that the further consideration be adjourned till next meeting. It was rosqjye.d, that a cheque bo signed for Mr M, Dowlinsr for the sum of £l6. £1 to be retained till the Board is satisfied that tho work is completed. Tho application of the North Wairarapa Benevolent Society was discussed, Subscriptions to the amount of £9 15s were received and more promised. Some of those present also undertook to correspond with residents and run owners to try and raise a further subscription,
