RULES AND REGULATIONS.

To be run under the Wairarapa Jockey Club rules, when not contrary to these regulations. The saddling bell will ring at 11.30 each day, and tho first raco starts at 12 o'clock. The timo for starting each event will be duly posted on the c'ourso after each preceding race, No person will be allowed to enter a horse for any. race (hack race excepted) unless ho bo a subscriber of at least £1 to tho raco fund. I'hreo entries, or tho public money will bo witheld. No scratching of horses allowed, unless through tho secretary, and 15 minutes boforo the time of starting. The starter has the power to place fractious or kicking horses, or disobedient jockeys in any position he thinks necessary 10 sccuro a fair start. All entries to be made in writing, sealed and addressed to tho secretary, entranco money enclosed, with name, age at tho timo of entry, and pedigree of the horse, name of tho owner, and colors of the rider. . . In all nominations for handicaps tho previous performances are to be given, All jockey*; to ride in proper racing costume, and any jockey riding except in colors entered will be fined two sovs, No entry will be accepted unless accompanied with the amount of entrance money, nor will any entry bo received after the dates and hours mentioned under any pretence whatever. No entry will be received for any of the races except on these conditions: That all disputes and .objections arising out of tho races shall be decided by a majority of the stewards present or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final, Iu case of a protest, the same must be lodgol with the secrciary 15 minutes after tho raco is run, with a deposit of £2, such deposit to bo forfeited if the protest be found trivial or vexatious. AH district races. Lady's Bracelet included, are open only to horse* within the boundary of the Tauern river. Flat Point, and Wairaata streams, and owned by bona fide residents for three months previous to the date of theso races, A " hack" horse is one in actual use as a hack, which lias not beeu in training for six months previous to the meeting, mid which has not, during that period been nominated for, entered for, or run for, other than hack races.
