That tho Board declines'to contribute towards this object. From Mr H. Dunn, asking tho Board to form a section of tho Tawataia road. Resolved, That the County Engineer be requested to lay off this section, prepare plans and specifications, and when ready, tenders to bo called to close at noxt meeting.

From Mr S. the reasons why his tender for metalling on the Alfredton-Eketahuna road'had not been accepted. Resolved, That no notice be taken of this communication.

Prom Messrs Bayliss and Rhodes, asking tho Board to metal 15 chains of the Alfredfcon-Ekotahuna road. Resolved, That the Board cannot undertake the work at present, and to point out to the applicants thot the Board is at present expending nearly £2OO in metalling at the Eketahuna end of the road. The Board will recommend this work-the 15 chains—being done out of doferred payment thirds due next month.

That tho Chairman be authorised to get the Castlehill track felled and cleared when necessary. That tenders be called, to close on Tuesday, 2nd February, for metalling ten chains, more or less, on tho Alfred-ton-Eketahuna road, tho Chairman and Messrs Napier and Saunders to deal with tenders.

That the County Engineer be asked to report on a section of the mam road leading to Mr'H. Biirling's property. That the attention of the Council bo drawn to tho hot that metal is being taken from the central Mangaono pit for the main road, and that the Council be asked to seo that this is put a stop to. That the Mastcrton Road Board bo again written to, asking for a settlement of accounts between the two Boards. That the Chairman bu authorised tn wgn the petitien to the Waste Lands Board re survey and opening of Crown, Lands in the district.

Accounts to the amount of £15815s lid were passed for payment. Messrs Napier and Von Reden woro authorised to Bign cheques. The next meeting was fixed for tho fourth Tuesday in February.
