an adjoining section hack to the creek from which the water was taken, It is Mr Carey's intention to erect several lathes in the place of the one ho has hitherto.been working with, so that he will be able to supply pretty, nearly all the orders for work of the kind in Masterton. In addition to these a band saw, and probably a circular saw will be put up, so that the expense of sending orders to cut timber to a suitable size to a sawmill will be saved. Mr Carey will be enabled to.supply all the various articles that are usually manufactured at wood-ware works, and there being a large district to supply, he will, no doubt, find a ready market for his goods, Tho building and water-wheol were designed byMrW.K. Smith, the Borough Gas Engineer, who lias displayed considerate skill in reducing everything to the simplest principle.
