TOWN LANDS TRUSTEES.
Tub adjourned monthly meeting of tho Mastertbn Town Lands Trustees was held yesterday evening. Present Messrs Gapper (chairman), Muir, Feist and Perry. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Secretary read a statement of the receipts and expenditure since the last meeting, showing that there was a balance in hand of £47 Us 3d. The Finance Committee submitted a statement of the estimated receipts and expenditure of the Trust for the year ending March 31st next. From this ft appeared that the estimated ordinary receipts were £220, rent £25, balance. £47 lis 3d. Total £292 lis 3d.' Expen-diture-Park Trustee's £ls, library £5,0, §chopl picnic fund £4o,' sinkinghnd £3o,,sundries (rates, etc) £75; Total £227lba."' Balance £55, Is 3d. Deposit \\\ Building Society £350. The Committee also stated that the grants already made absorbed all the available balance, and recommended that no further grants bo made during the year. °
The Scorctary stated that a report had appeared in tho papers of a meeting of the Pari? Trustees, in which it was stated that the Secretary of those Trustees had made repeated applications for money granted, but had been unable to obtain it. As a matter of fact tho money was not due till the end of the year, _ The report with the recommendations it contained, was adopted. The Chairman reported that no portion of the money in hand had been invested in land at tho sale of the Manaia estate. A private but unsuccessful offer had subsequently been made for some of tho sections.
Iho Secretary report that lie had seen Mr Richards regarding tho acre leased by him for grazing, and recently let for building purposes, and that Mr Richards had thon given him no idea at all that he intended to claim notice. Since then he had learnt that Mr Richards had. claimed six months' notice or £2O compensation. The Committee appointed recommended tho navment of £5. ' "
_ Tne Chairman also reported h.<win» interviewed Mr Richards, He suggested that the amount of £u bp tendered to Mr Richards before anything else was done. It \yaa resolved that Messrs Perryj Muir, and tho Chairman be a committee to see Mr Richards and offer him the sum named,
